Rust - Edelmann
September 10, 2011 - Opening Night Gala

All the way from Munich, Germany, internationally known couple, Rebecca Rust, cellist, and Friedrich Edelmann, bassoonist, will open our 2011-12 Concert season.

From Munich, Germany, cellist Rebecca Rust, bassoonist Friedrich Edelmann, and pianist Vera Breheda (from San Francisco) will offer an evening of masterworks in a sampling of styles and periods.Performing with them will be internationally known pianist Vera Breheda from the San Francisco Bay Area.

This dynamic trio is offering a variety of well-crafted pieces for the unusual instrumental combination of cello & bassoon, and adding piano to include works especially composed for them (Cello-Bassoon-Piano). The program will include a variety of baroque, classical and romantic trios, American Ragtime for cello & bassoon, a romantic sonata and a short piece by Mendelssohn.

Gala Champagne Reception at 6:45 p.m. prior to the concert.

Concert time is 7:30 p.m. at the Fortuna Monday Club, 610 Main Street in Fortuna.
