The Pastime Silent Movie Orchestra will appear to delight audiences with films before the days of sound. They’ll be performing to Buster Keaton’s 1921 film classic, "The Playhouse" and Harry Langdon's "Remember When" of 1925, both film shorts with authentic music compiled by Debbie Barcelles and Franklin Stover.
In 'Remember When' our hapless hero loses his orphanage sweetheart only to find her years later in a circus sporting a beard. In 'The Playhouse'', Keaton dreams he's in a vaudeville show watching his own performance. Waking up, he finds true love but first must fill in for an escaped ape and organize a rag-tag troop of Zoaves.
The Pastimers will also perform instrumentals from the silent era by George Cobb, Eubie Blake, and others. Musicians include Allen Lesser - violin, Jimmy Durchslag - trombone, Dana Christen - piano, and Franklin Stover on clarinet.
