The Babes
Opening Night Gala

The Babes, a choral group that evolved from Humboldt Light Opera’s chorus, was formed by women who wanted to sing all year instead of just in the HLOC performances. Their repertoire includes pop standards of the 50s and 60s, beautiful choral works written especially for women’s voices, and new arrangements of well-known standards.

The group celebrates many occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day and, of course, Christmas by providing either the full group in concert or small groups for smaller intimate settings. Occasionally Babe Magnets, a small ensemble of men, joins the group in concert, which it will do for the Fortuna Concert Series.

The program will bring back many memories, and you will leave humming your favorites.

Gala Champagne Reception at 7:15p.m. prior to the concert.

Concert time is 8:00 p.m. at the Fortuna Monday Club, 610 Main Street in Fortuna. Tickets for Opening Night Gala $12.00.
