Brass Consort von Humboldt
November 11, 2000
Led by professor of trumpet,
Gil Cline, Brass Consort von Humboldt
is an HSU chamber ensemble devoted to brass music new and old, with
a particular bend toward historically informed performance.
This group has concertized extensively - the only university ensemble invited to perform at the annual American Conference of the Historic Brass Society.
Using replica instruments whenever possible, offerings will include: English madrigals, antiphonal divided - choir works, German "town piper" music, and modern works for brass by Hindemith, Cheetham, and other gems from the brass repertoire.
